Summary:
(1) Introduction to Meta-analysis: ①Definition and brief history; ②Basic steps.
(2) Valuation of Ecosystem Services in Northwest Inland River Basins, China: The economic value of river basin ecosystem services analyzed in cost-benefit analysis, can help solve the increasingly serious ecological and environmental problems. However, with the increase of valuation literatures, there is a lot of controversy in terms of the amount of value and the influencing factors. In this paper, the meta-regression analysis is first applied to the valuation of ecosystem services in the inland river basin, China. The results show: Valuation in Shiyang River and Tarim River is significantly higher than that in Heihe River; Valuation in upper reaches is significantly higher than that in middle and lower reaches; There is no significant difference in valuation by the dichotomous discrete contingent valuation method and choice experiments, but valuation by the former is significantly lower than that by other kinds of contingent valuation method; Valuation over time shows "declining effect”, and valuation in journal is significantly higher than that in other literatures. Furthermore, we assess the potential for using the results for out-of-sample benefit transfer, and find a median error of 27.12%. Overall, meta-regression analysis appears to be useful for value transfer of ecosystem services in the inland river basins at policy sites in China.
