Introduction of Speaker:
Jürgen Soll, Ph.D., Professor. Dr. Soll received his Ph.D. from the University of Hannover in 1981. He worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Professor Bob B. Buchanan from the University of California, Berkeley from 1982 to 1983. From 1983 to 2001, he was a principle investigator at the Institute of Botany at the University of Munich, a professor of plant physiology at the University of Saarbrücken, and a professor of developmental biology at the University of Kiel. Since 2001, he has served as a professor at the University of Munich. In 2004, he received the Leibniz Prize from the German Science Foundation and was elected to the German Academy of Sciences in the same year. From 2006 to 2009, he was the head of biology at the University of Munich.
