Title: Gold Catalysis: Recent Advances in Transforming π Systems
Speaker: Liming.Zhang professor of California University
Time: 4:30 PM on June 27, 2018 (Wednesday)
Venue: E211 meeting room, Building of the College of science
Here is the abstract:
This talk will discuss the recent developments in our lab on three areas of homogeneous gold catalysis, all of which employ π systems such as alkynes or allenes as substrates. They are: a) insertions into unactivated C-H bonds by in-situ generated acceptor/acyl gold carbenes via oxidative gold catalysis; b) insertions into unactivated C-H bonds by reactive gold vinylidene intermediates en route to versatile 2-bromocyclopentenones; c) the development of new bifunctional phosphine ligands specifically designed for homogeneous gold catalysis and their applications in novel and/or highly efficient gold catalysis.
