Introduction of Speaker:
Dr. Xihui Shen is a Professor in the College of Life Sciences, Northwest A&F University, specializing in environmental microbiology. He obtained his Ph.D. in 2005 at Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, majored in microbiology. He did postdoctoral researches in the Department of Biological Sciences at Purdue University from 2005 to 2008. He joined the College of Life Sciences, Northwest A&F University in 2010 as a full professor and leader of the Environmental Microbiology Group. He has published more than 60 articles in microbiology, and extensively involved in National research plans such as 973 Program, 863 Plan, as well as grants of National Nature Science Foundation of China (NSFC). Dr. Shen’s research encompasses the regulation of bacteria motility/biofilm formation, functional characterization of T6SS effectors, biodegradation of aromatic compounds and isolation and characterization of endophytic bacteria.
