Introduction of Speaker:
Dr. Ho Yul Choo, a distinguished emeritus professor of entomo-nematology, Gyeongsang National University, Republic of Korea. He was a professor of Department of Plant Medicine, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Gyeongsang National University. He was Dean of College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and Dean of Graduate School of Life and Environment, Gyeongsang National University from 2004 to 2006. He obtained his B.S. degree in agriculture from Gyeongsang National University, obtained his M.S. degree from Kyungpook National University, and PhD from Seoul National University. He was a postdoc fellow of Department of Nematology, University of California, Davis, California, USA from 1986 to 1987. He was visiting professor of Department of Nematology, University of California, Davis, California and Department of Rutgers University, New Jersey, USA from 1994 to 1995 and 1999 to 2000, respectively. He was also short-term visiting professor for research at some universities and institutes in USA, Philippines, Thailand, and Japan. He published about 250 research papers on insect pests, biological control of insect pests, and entomopathogenic nematodes in Korea and international journals. He has chapters on insect parasitic nematodes such as Agamermis and entomopathogenic nematodes in the international publishers, NOVA Science Publishers, Kluwer Academic Publishers, and CSIRO.
