Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University (NWAFU) is a comprehensive and national key university directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. It is also one of the Project 211 and Project 985 universities, and among the 42 selected universities of the "Double First-Class" initiative.
Located in Yangling national agriculture high-tech industrial demonstration zone, Shaanxi Province, NWAFU has the full support in its construction and development from the central and the local government of China. To accelerate the construction of world-class agricultural university, NWAFU established the Institute of Future Agriculture (IFA) in August 2020, promoting and leading the development of modern agriculture in arid and semi-arid regions. As an innovative pioneer fully supported by the university, IFA focuses on the cutting-edge development of life science, human health, smart agriculture and other key fields related to future agriculture. IFA is committed to frontiers in basic science research, interdisciplinary collaborative research, breakthroughs in core technologies in key fields, and cultivating innovative talents. I. Discipline areas for recruitment
i. Frontiers in life science, including but not limited to the following disciplines: functional genomics and bioinformatics, epigenetics, systems biology, synthetic biology, gene editing technology and applications, molecular design breeding, biotechnology.

II. Job requirements
i. Basic requirements
An applicant should observe discipline and obey the law, possess good moral character and professional ethics, rigorous scholarship, and strong sense of commitment and responsibility, with good educational and academic background, engaged in the research fields of the Institute of Future Agriculture, and physically and mentally healthy to fulfill the future work tasks.

1. Outstanding talents
(1) Those who have made systematic and creative achievements and significant contributions in the field.
(2)Those who are among the top scientists in the field or with an equivalent academic level.
(3) Those who undertake research targeted at vital needs of the nation and future agricultural development, with a prospective and strategic vision of the discipline development trend, and the capability of exploring the frontier in the fields.
2. Leading talents
(1) Those who have made systematic, influential, and important original contributions in the field.
(2) Those who are the leading scientists in the fields or those with an equivalent academic level.
(3) Those who grasp the trend of discipline development in the fields and lead frontier scientific research.
3. Top talents
(1) Those who are active in the international academic frontier in the field and have excellent academic achievements, as potential candidates of national talents and national young talents.
(2) Those who have obtained a doctoral degree and have undertaken post-doctoral research for no less than two years.

III. Remuneration and welfare
IFA provides competitive positions, salaries and support conditions as follows:
1. Remuneration and welfare for outstanding talents and leading talents are individually negotiable based on actual demands. Top talents can be employed as professors or young professors. Young talents can be employed as associate professors, young associate professors or tenure-track teachers.
